True. But then their average folks are indeed enjoying a decent standard of living that they can be proud of. Here in S'pore, the average folks are almost at a subsistence level, hand to mouth basis daily. On top of that, we definitely have more poor people than Switzerland. Pro-PAP samsters should think before they try defending their masters.
I would like to congratulate the PAP govt for doing such a fantastic job transforming the country from a backwater to the top of the league.

S'pore was not a backwater when LKY took over. It was a thriving seaport with good infrastructure built up by the British who also ran an excellent administration regime with top notch education provided. Many of what LKY claimed credit for were in fact solid foundations laid down by the British. Many would in fact say that LKY destroyed quite a lot of the good works done by the British.
Another myth is that S'pore is not in the top of the league. Just read those rankings that matter (and not those just have GDP or per capita figures). As I've urged consistently, pro PAP samsters should think before they post. We already know that you are a brainless lot (for what else can they be to so blindly supporting a hopeless cause) but you don't have to prove it.

That's right. In any case, people like Leongsam has always been wrong about those asking the govt to do more for the poor and needy. Just by rendering more aid to the lowest segment of society does not mean we turn ourselves into a welfare state. This is what LKY and his balls carriers would have us believe. It's far from it and is only a matter of more equitable distribution of income and expense allocation. To LKY, spending one cent more leads inevitably to a welfare state. Anyone with some common sense can tell it's pure nonsense. The sad thing is the PAP balls carriers don't have common sense.
For any society to remain strong and resilient, it must be seen to be rewarding hard work and enterprise. Helping the poor and the needy sends the opposite message. All it does is encourage more people to put their hand up for assistance. It creates a culture of dependency from which there is no turning back.

Average folks here are living very well. Well taken cared of by the govt. You must be a foreigner pretending to be a local on this forum.
Like your PAP political masters, you are totally out of touch with the ground. Just go ask any man in the street. He or she will tell you how they are struggling to make ends meet with hardly any leftover as savings. It's hand to mouth, and they are getting very worried how much longer they can cope with LKY still very delusional that S'pore has attained Swiss standard of living. But worse than LKY are balls carrier like you who choose to be blind against the plight of the average folks.
Obviously you don't know the actual situation with the poor and needy. These are the hardest working people you can ever come across. If not, would they have just starved themselves to death since the PAP is not helping at all.
If the hardest working end up poor and needy, the only conclusion I can draw is that they must be really STUPID! Either way, they deserve no help. We don't want village idiots passing their inferior genes onto the next generation.
