I don't blame Singaporeans. The pap has controlled the media and lied to Singaporeans.But more singaporeans are waking up and the pap knows that the next GE can be critical for them.

As I said before, Saddam claimed that he won more than 90% of the votes. With what the many manipulations the pap has done,I am surprised it didn't get more than 80% od the votes. To me, getting only 60% after all the manipulations is a failure

Also, diaspora members, their organizations and companies can play host to interns from India which will positively affect India’s understanding of countries where Diaspora has a sizeable presence.

In other words, current relationship between the Indian Diaspora and India serves as a strategic tool in India’s emergence as a Global Power.

And how do you know the polls are not rigged? We have seen election rules violations committed by the PAP ignored. The Election Department is under the PM. How do you expect a fair election when the body entrusted to run the polls is under the thumb of the PM. Are you that gullible to believe that the sinkapore government is clean?

To Sum up...S'pore should:

1) Rectify Article 9.3.3 - To include academic, means and economic testing, etc, so as to reduce the no. of "redundant" immigrants who eat into and becomes a budren to our resources, and avoid overcrowding, etc.

2) Reinforce Article 9.3.4 - LHL did the right thing to stop the no. of Indian schools in S'pore at 4. Indians are not entitled to schools, housing, hospitalisation or whatsoever social benefits for S'poreans.

3) Rectify Article 9.6 - This clause should be removed entirely for DPs and LTVPs.

DPs and LTVPs should not be allowed to work here. These people are 'dependents' on the EP who are sent by the Indian companies who do business in S'pore. They can accompany and stay, and study but should not be allowed to work. We cant have grandpas, wives, children living and working here in S'pore.

We should also impose tax levies or dependency ratios on these DPs and LTVPs who are working here. Currently, there is none.

S'pore should review to prevent Indians from being too dominant a force in certain sectors, eg: banking and IT, which is vital to our country's national security and defense. We can have Chinese and Pinoys IT engineers to counter balance them.

Divide and conquer, is what the British did when they rule India.


WHAT FELLOW ORDINARY S'POREANS CAN HELP TO DO TO HELP OURSELVES:

1) Raise the HDB and Private condos rentals....3 room HDB to SGD 6k for Indian FTs. This helps to raise the cost of entry into S'pore, and prevent lowballing of wages and let our Indian FT friends feels the pinch opf the cost of living. Else they can go back to the slums in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.

PLS HELP SPREAD THE WORDS...

2) Enact laws to impose racial quota to rental markets for HDB and condos. This is to prevent enclavements of Indians in a particular block or area. This is to prevent them from breaking our social-fabric. If they want to come, they have got to assimilate into us, and not that us with them. This will break their "Indianness" which they are so proud of to the extent that they are looking down on our Spore Indian bros.

I think the 50 yr Indian is probably on a DP or LTVP.

We should amend the DP and LTVP loophole. These people can accompany the EP holder under the CECA were Indian company come n setup business here in S'pore, and they can stay temp for 1 yr and study, etc, but they should not be allowed to work.

he Singapore govt has already signed away the right to control the influx of Indian professionals into Singapore. Any attempts to limit numbers, control the flow will be in violation the trade agreement known as CECA and gives the Indian govt the right to sue Singapore.

The new measures taken by Singapore to control the influx of foreigners working in Singapore ‘has irked India as the new law does not give India a preferential treatment incorporated in the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CECA) between the two countries, operational since 2005. This stance by the Singapore Government is expected to affect Indians working as middle-level managers, executives and technicians.

Speculation is rife that India might take up the issue with World Trade Organization’s (WTO) dispute settlement body. However, according to Singapore such a decision was imperative in the interest of the natives as the share of the foreign workforce is rising very rapidly.

“… I do not think we have contravened our commitments in the WTO or the CECA. Moreover, this is not specifically targeted to any one country. We remain very open to foreign talent,” a senior Singapore government official told Business Standard…. According to Indian officials involved in the negotiations, this is a violation of the services trade agreement under CECA. This will also adversely affect Indians who are working there as it might lead to job losses, especially for the middle level workers.

India has submitted a request to Singapore for addressing the matter but has not received a formal communication yet.

Currently, there are about 200,000 non-resident Indians in Singapore working in ITES, financial services and scientific research sectors among others, according to one estimate.’ – Business Standard 29 Oct.

Did Singapore sign an agreement with India or any other country that allows that country unlimited entry of its people into the island? Can this really be the case? Imagine a little island of 760 sq km signing such an agreement with countries that have more than a billion people and they can send any number of people they want here? I don’t think Singapore officials are that stupid right? There must be some misunderstanding or misinterpretation of the agreements in this case by India. No silly govt in the world will open their country to any country with no restrictions. It is like inviting an invasion and a takeover of the country.

What is happening? I have faith that our super talents with foresight and great intelligence would not sell out the country blindly with such agreements. How can it be?

Actually its is going down fast.. foreign investments are dwindling rapidly over the last few months.

In a nutshell, all these FTA was signed when India was boasting about its grown potential a couple of years back, so many governments rushed to sign on in case they miss the boat , like with China many years ago...

However, now with India economy on the brink of collapse, all the countries are having second thoughts about India. I think all the governments should do a study on how much has any country benefited from trading with India. Or have they benefited from your country instead?
