These recent GE and PE has made me do some mental calulation as to the actual number of singaporeans (native born not naturalised).remaining in singapore. Since only singapore citizens over the age of 21 are eligible to vote, we can see that there are just under 2.75 million registered voters i.e. singapore citizens over 21.

MOM stats say that there are just over 918,000 RESIDENTS (not citizens) in singapore under the age of 20. I am sure that a fair portion are foreign students, children of FTs and expats, etc. I will asume here that we can eliminate at least 150,000 as non citizens. That leaves 768,000 who are actually citizens.

The issue of how to count the number of residents excatly at the age of 21, well, i used the average of 247,200 divide by 5 = approximately 44,000. I am sure some of these 44,000 are not singaporeans either. Lets say that 30,000 are.

So if we add citizens who are over 21 and citizens at 2.75 million + citizens who are under 20 years old 768,000 + citizens who are actually 21 ........30,000 = Approximately 3,548,000 singaporean citizens. Of this number, I wouldn't even dare to thing there are how many that are native sons of singapore, born here, like I am. Maybe only 3.25 million.

Ok, never mind, I just found the new table 2.1 below which states there are 3.230,700 citizens and 541,000 PRs. Since 1990 to 2010, the number of citizens have only gone up 607,000 in 20 years, or 23%. The number of PRs have increased in the same period from 112,000 to 541000, or 483%. If the PAP really wants new citizens, they should all PRs 2 years to convert to citizenship or fuck off from here. I think these stats really showed how many singaporeans have either given up their citizenships or have been struck off the rolls by the NRO.
