Is this is supposed to be news? Lee KY already said outright back in the 60s that an SG citizen is just a digit. "From each his economic best and to each is economic worth". How's the grand plan to cleanse our beautiful city of the economically worthless citizens coming along?

Singapore has no natural resources. No idea what natural resources Switzerland has but they have a high tax rate. Singapore while trying to emulate the Swiss Standard of Living, does not follow the Swiss model. We have a low tax rate. This is to attract the rich here. But with no natural resources in Singapore, something must balance this. The answer is Digits and GST.

Formula is like this.

Less Income Tax = More Digits x GST
