boys and their toys......i agree its pointless getting stealth tecjnology when all you do is patrol the coast and there's not much of one anyway. but don't forget, singapore has the least accountability and transparency in the acqusition of military hardware in the world....hat could mean that a lot of corruption could be going n right under the govt's nose but i am not going to speculate. we have ( in malaysia) already seen how people like the mongolian girl can get killed for such matters.....

So our navy should just patrol the shores? What about the sending of a ship to the counter-piracy mission in the Arabian Sea?

i suppose that is their own way of seeing some "action"....

besides the RSN had done quite a decent job doing its bit for cleaning up piracy around this area

No frigates.. gunboat. In Singapore, we call them landing ship tanks, corvettes, frigates but it's a fucking joke to the foreign Navies.

Why is this not to public tender? Instead it is given to a GLC. Sinkapore doesn't export ships, so why bother building it here? In fact, the Koreans can do it cheaper and better. Why waste hundreds of millions just to give the job to a GLC?
