Singapore’s MRT trains can at times be a place for local entertainment.
For one lucky commuter known on Facebook as He Ran, her ride to Jurong on Thursday came complete with a classical performance – a “ballet show”.
“Was on my way to Jurong earlier today and was baffled by a "performer" on board the train..! So I helped by adding music for her to enhance her performance.... ENJOY the performance,” she said.
In a 52-second clip recorded by this female eyewitness, the “ballerina”, looking sweet in a white tank top and a pink skirt, was seen elegantly swinging her right arm about while holding on to a tote bag with the other.
Complete with the plie (a ballet move) and bold swings of her long thin legs, the dancer, who had her ears plugged into music, appeared oblivious to the people around her, including the woman recording her “performance” at the time.
Was she preparing for a ballet exam as one commenter had speculated?
For whatever reason, we give two thumbs up for the piece. What a refreshing sight for commuters who would otherwise be staring at other people glued to their smartphones.
