To his fiancee, Muhammad Idzuan Arifin was a shy, quiet man, with few female friends.
Miss Ria, as she wanted to be known, knew he had his vices, having been with him for seven years and seeing him get into trouble over drug consumption.
So she was shocked when Muhammad Idzuan, 24, was hauled up by the police on Feb 6 this year, for outraging the modesty of a 22-year-old woman.
His arrest also led to a drug charge after his urine samples proved positive for Ice, the common name for crystal methamphetamine.
He was sentenced yesterday to five-and-a-half years' jail and given four strokes of the cane – three years for his drug offence and 30 months and four strokes for outrage of modesty.
