A train fault disrupted service on the opening day of the Downtown Line 1 for about 15 minutes.

The fault took place at around noon near Bayfront station, and delayed train service from Bugis to Chinatown.

From just looking at the pictures, I have a hunch that the DTL is made with cheapo materials, cheaper than the ones found in Circle Line, NE Line etc.

The tacky-looking blue plastic handle grips, the slim curved pane of glass next to the door, the flimsy steel poles which do not extend all the way to the floor, the cheap-looking PVC and plastic design of the platforms.

Whatever lah eh? Sinkies should be grateful and not complain too much. After all, the MRT's main purpose is to provide an AoE buff around the area and boost the property prices in the vicinity. Higher rents, higher prices, more malls, more condos, more REITs... and then you wonder why the middle class is becoming an endangered species.

P.S: Don't forget to cough up higher fares. The dividends of SMRT and Comfort Delgro depends on you.
