Many self-identified “pro-Palestinians” refuse to support the Iranian uprising because doing so would create an ideological own goal. The Iranian Islamic regime—under the Ayatollah—has long been positioned as their supposed champion against Israel and the West. Publicly opposing it risks challenging religious authority, political narratives, or interpretations of shariah they feel pressured to defend—or fear being accused of betraying.
That fear is not abstract. In a system where apostasy can be punished by death, fear becomes a powerful tool of control. And unfortunately, it has proven effective.
The reality is this: the Ayatollah sits at the center of the problem, funding Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist proxies. This exposes the truth—what is often framed as “pro-Palestinian” activism is, in practice, frequently pro-Hamas. That’s the uncomfortable checkmate.
The hypocrisy couldn’t be clearer. Many would rather watch ordinary Iranians suffer without clean water, stable electricity, or economic opportunity than admit their position is driven less by concern for Palestinians and more by entrenched anti-Semitic or anti-American sentiment.
There is also denial at play. Some are simply unable to accept that their so-called Islamic “champion” is collapsing. To cope, they default to blaming Mossad or the CIA for everything. What they fail to realize is that this argument is deeply condescending—it suggests Iranian Muslims are incapable of independent thought and are merely puppets of foreign intelligence agencies. That, in itself, is a profound insult to the Iranian ummah.
TLDR: 1. They can’t own-goal their holy book since the Ayatollah is their champion in sharia law. Fear and tribalism plays a big role where it’s frowned upon to critique the religion.
- They rather see ordinary Iranians suffer without water and electricity than to admit their anti-Semitic stance. They are pro Hamas not pro Palestinians, nor protesting for the sake of the oppressed or humanity. Right back at the watermelons: your silence is complicit in the oppression of the Iranians.
- Blaming CIA/Mossad is an insult to the intelligence of Muslim Iranians that they are incapable to make intelligent choices but are easily manipulated by foreign agencies.
- Don’t give me the Sunni/Shia bs either. Islamic Iranian regime is Shia but poured millions of funds into Hamas which is a Sunni. They are the main sponsor for this terror proxy and supported more than any “pro Palestinians”/Sunni sect ever did.
