It was an honest mistake!

oh man... u remind me of my fav cartoon..

Since there are 4 swimmers, they should all hop onto 1 motorbike like this ...

I can't believe Ang Peng Siong cock up so badly. His reputation has taken a big heat. WTF, just get to the venue early, cannot meh? The deadline is 3pm, and they left their homebase at 2.45pm? How can blame the traffic like that? 15 mins is not enough time, as he himself said it takes 30mins to get to the venue.

What to do? The Indian bus drivers arrived late. As you know, Indians are generally quarrelsome by nature. They were still arguing who to drive the bus. One question on their mind was "how many Indians do you need to drive a bus?"

By the time they agreed, it was already 2.45 pm. Anyway they did reach the swimming poo... where 50 swimmers got ill. Either too much chlorine or too many germs swimming in there. The ang mohs had the last laugh on them.

If Peng Siong knows the competitors are sick, even the more reason for him to get there and race his team. They have a higher chance of winning against sick opponents, no

NEW DELHI - THE Singapore men's 4x200m freestyle relay team suffered the embarrassment of being disqualified from their final yesterday without even hitting the pool - all because they had failed to submit their entry for the final on time.

However, the quartet's joy subsequently turned into anxiety and later disappointment when they missed the 3pm deadline for submitting their entry for the final. The bus ferrying the squad had arrived at the venue only at 3.45pm due to traffic delays.

Team manager and head coach Ang Peng Siong said in a statement issued by Team Singapore: 'It usually takes us about 20 to 30 minutes to reach the Dr S.P. Mukherjee Swimming Complex. Today, it took us about an hour to reach the swimming complex.'

The final was at 6pm, but the squad had left at 2.45pm so that 'the team would not have to wait at the venue for too long before their event', said Ang.

Leaving 15 minutes before the deadline for a destination that normally takes 20-30minutes is nothing short of PURE ARROGANCE!

APS thinks his bus is what, YOG bus travelling on special designated lanes with fines for vehicles blocking them?

In his NS days, did APS habitually book in late after 2359hrs?

....hhmmmm ... in the Straits Times, he says sorry....

.....and in New Paper he says We have to move on ....

.... sounds familiar ......

It's Too Late - Carole King

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSep7QJXKlE

Stayed in bed all morning just to pass the time
There's something wrong here, there can be no denying
One of us is changing, or maybe we've stopped trying

And it's too late, baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I can't hide
And I just can't fake it

It used to be so easy living here with you
You were light and breezy and I knew just what to do
Now you look so unhappy, and I feel like a fool

And it's too late, baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I can't hide
And I just can't fake it

There'll be good times again for me and you
But we just can't stay together, don't you feel it too
Still I'm glad for what we had, and how I once loved you

But it's too late, baby, it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I can't hide

anybody knows who is the chef de mission of the Singapore contingent ....??

if other contestants could make it on time, no reason why sg team ended up 45min late. it's not as if they didnt witness the traffic conditions in india. looks like there will much explaning to do for the team.

Peng SIong was just purely arrogant. He knows the start time for the event is 6pm. But when the Indians told him to go to the venue at 3pm, he fuck care them. His attitude was that he does not need to be told to go there 3 hours before hand, he will go there when he is damn well ready. He mentioned as much when he said he did not want his team to lounge around there for 3 hours. Scarlly, it turns out the Indians were serious about the 3pm deadline, and he was too late. I think the Chef De Mission was probably at the pool and called him at 2.45pm and ask him why he was not there yet. Than he karang kabok load the team up in the bus, but it was too late.

It was probably a good thing our swimmers did not get to swim anymore in the disease infested water. Imagine our swimmers contracting some long term illness and have to give up their sports career prematurely.

Why? Is this your pathetic excuse to justify the cockup? Why don't you say "Oh, its just as well I didn't strike 4D, because than I would be rich and waste away my life spending my money on gambling, drinking, and womanising"

This episode is preposterous to say the least ......:o

the swimmers practiced so hard and for long periods of time to reach the finals, with their parents going there to support them ....and whooosh ..... gone .....:(

..... only excuse .... I am sorry and ..... we must move on .....

Good God ...... what is happening ??

I am sure Seth MacFarlane would have told himself,
"Oh, its just as well I didn't board that plane, because then I would be DEAD."

On the morning of September 11, 2001, Seth MacFarlane was scheduled to return to Los Angeles on American Airlines Flight 11 from Boston, Massachusetts. Suffering from a hangover from the previous night's celebrations and with an incorrect departure time, he arrived late at Logan International Airport and was unable to board the flight as the gates had been closed. Fifteen minutes after departure, American Airlines Flight 11 was hijacked, and at 8:46 a.m. was flown into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, obliterating the airplane and destroying the building.
