At least the hawkers tell you in advance that it is 'kosong', and not try to pull a fast one when you pack home 5 packets of bak chor mee from Ghim Moh Hawker Centre, and end up with this shit for $4 per packet!

I took that photo and returned to the stall later. The hawker claimed that her husband is old and forgetful so he forgot to include the ingredients. She tried to scam me by claiming that the mee costs $3 while her ingredients cost $1 per packet, so she offered me $5 off on my next visit! I insisted on a cash refund of $5, even though the ingredients probably cost $3 and the mee $1 per serving.
