it's interesting the article mentioned sg offering usd29 budget hotel rooms. i'm convinced sg is the top budget travel recommendation as you'll find 1st world tourists and 3rd world visitors being allowed to sleep anywhere: tents, void decks, corridors, benches, mrt stations. :p

Singapore does not really have much to offer and a 2 to 3 day stay would cover almost all the attractions.
