He has gotten a new contractor for the abandoned project, which was supposed to have been completed by May this year. Under his supervision, it will be ready by next June. Palmer, if he had been a good MP would have realised more than a year ago that the project was behind time and done something about it. Even Ser Luck can do a better job.
In the meantime, tenants were given a 30% discount for the rental by Palmer. Ser Luck has upped it to 40% until the end of the project.
He has been visiting Punggol East EVERY DAY since 'taking over'. Palmer was there only for on Monday nights, and even then, with other (covet) business on his mind. Ser Luck has successfully delegated his day job to other people.
He has even promised that if there is a cost over-run, the HDB has a contingency budget for the project, no worry. His experience with Vivian Balankrishnan on YOG of the 370% budget excess will stand him in good stead.
In response to KJ Jeyaratnam's tweet that the Riverdale Plaza looked like a bombed out site, Ser Luck double-confirmed his intelligence by tweeting back: "I can assure residents that there are no bombs in the place." He will have another chance to demonstrate his auctioneering skills yet again, come by-erection time.
