Vincent's departure was a foregone conclusion. SDP did well in recruiting Malays into its leadership and file but came at the expense of gays having no place since Muslims cannot accept them. Chee siblings are Christians, I heard even Ananth Tambah is one too and a very staunch one.

Vincent will end up the same in WP (Malay vice chairman, Malay MP, Catholic and Christians among its MPs) and NSP (which has a Malay Bureau and several Christian CEC members). He could try SPP or RP. RP / KJ can go Pinkdot every year because they have nearly no Malay members which is why they chose West Coast and AMK. Now they have recruited Roy who is also gay, Vincent can join them. I'm not saying this out of sarcasm; we should have gay MPs too.

Sinaporans not ready yet to accept ah gua politicians..so these ah guas should just go to hong lim park to air their grievances as activists, not in Parliament.

I rather have a gay MP than a MIW. What takes place in his bedroom does not interest me. But, everyone is free to have his/her opinion. Maybe we aren't ready yet.

The pappies have adopted a new strategy since Dr Backside lost to an Ah Lian. They now realise that Bengs and Lians aren't that bad anymore. As long as they win. If Harry was still alive and calling the shots, Josephus won't be contesting.

I have nothing against gays. VW's sexual orientation is his own business. He's intelligent, articulate and pro-Spore and he would have made a great opposition MP. It all started because that political coward desperado of a cheebye Vivian Balakrishnan outed him as gay. Looks like he succeeded and Spore is denied a potentially great opposition MP.
