STOMPer Maggie takes the East-West line daily and she finds the lack of air-conditioning in the train unbearable.

This is yet another report STOMP has received about the lack of air-conditioning in the trains and buses.

She wrote in an email:

"Why is the air-conditioning in the MRT not working nowadays during peak hours?

"I take the East-West line daily and I perspire in the train!

"Fares keep increasing but where is the service?

"Also, it's too long a waiting time for the trains during peak hours. It's sometimes as long as 4 minutes!

"This is ridiculous!"

Pay more at Affordable prices.....Pay Affordable Prices...get it!

Sinkie Women also cannot take it anymore

Will there be big changes in the coming elections?

just compare the caliber of MTR (HK) CEO and our SMRT CEO... little surprise at the state of our daily train rides.

Saw Phaik Hwa, 55, is President and Chief Executive Officer of SMRT Corporation Ltd. Ms Saw brings to SMRT a wealth of
experience in retail and international business. Prior to joining SMRT, she served as Regional President for DFS Venture Singapore (Pte) Limited, in charge of businesses in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. Her 19-year career with the DFS group of companies saw her rising through management ranks, including assuming operational responsibilities in Hong Kong, Macau and Vietnam, to her final position.

She is a director of The Esplanade Co Ltd and a board member of the National Environment Agency and the Health Promotion Board. She also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Singapore Management University, the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Community Charity Fund and
Youth Business Singapore. She is a member of the Sports Sub-Committee of Singapore Totalisator Board.

Ms Saw is an ardent practitioner of taiji and sits on the Council of the Singapore Jian Chuan Tai Chi Chuan Physical Culture Association as President and as Vice President on the Executive Committee of the International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation. She is also appointed
as Governor for Singapore and Malaysia for the international body of Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan Academy as well as 3rd Vice Chairman of Singapore Wushu Dragon & Lion Dance Federation.

She was conferred the Leading CEO Award, organised by the Singapore HR Institute in 2005 and a Medal of Commendation at the 2007 May Day Award.

Ms Saw is better off marketing cosmetics and handbags for DFS rather than running our train system.

making sure commuters get to their destinations on time, in relative comfort, is a whole different ball game from selling Guccis and Pradas to Japanese/korean tourists

Not too long ago, someone was complaining that MRT coaches were too cold. Now somebody is complaining about it being too hot.

Is her job so difficult no native Singaporean CEO can do? this kind of FT, I think better "invite" her back to her kampong where buffaloes still roam freely!
