Do you still remember about luxury black taxi few years ago ? At that time many passengers in Changi Airport refused to accept black taxi as it was very expensive.

SINGAPORE - Vehicles from Japanese luxury car brand Lexus will be plying for fares as taxis in Singapore soon.
ComfortDelGro, the largest taxi operator here, has ordered a fleet of 30 Lexus ES300 Hybrid saloons to be used as premium cabs. They will go on the road from as early as August.

Tourists in Dubai are cheated by Lexus taxi

Beware Of The Charges For White Lexus Taxis

Review of Dubai Taxi
Reviewed February 18, 2016 via mobile
Used the standard taxi to and from the mall a few times, typical cost was 70 dirhams, however, returned last night in one of the many white Lexus Taxis and cost was 135 dirhams.
Had a bit of a debate with the driver when the meter showed 60 after 10 mins in the cab and agreed a compromise.
Beware and check costs before setting off

News in 2014

The unhappiness was apparently over a new queue system that separates commuters who want a normal cab from those who wish to take a premium cab (such as a Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, MaxiCab or London Cab, for example). Premium cabs are more expensive.

Changi Airport Group (CAG) spokesman Robin Goh said the system was "to provide commuters with clearer taxi choices".

Chrysler cab driver G.G. Yip, 56, said he was not at the protest, but understood the concern about the queueing system.

"It is not completely fair," he said. "It seems to warn passengers of much higher charges, when, in fact, the difference in total fare may be as little as $3 to $4 for the journey."

Mr Yip said premium cab drivers who protested must have felt they were being unduly penalised. "Every passenger wants a fair deal, but we have to realise the difference between a limo cab and a normal cab."

in the olden days when I watched cantonese movies, they called this 黑色玛丽娅

I don't know black car, but I still remember "red car" parking at various locations in Orchard road, especially during Swing Singapore.
