Even my 1st Class Private knows questions on car park lots in schools are bo siao gan kind of questions. Very risk free! KNN fought so hard to get into Parliament just to fight for free parking lots for teachers in their own compound ?

While WP MPs fought their way into parliament through the front door against very unfair odds placed by PAP to obstruct the opposition. Pritam Singh is far more deserving of being a MP than all these backdoor PAP MPs.

This line of argument against PAP, I'm afraid, is no longer valid after GE2015. Except for Hougang SMC, WP lost all its one-to-one fight. Most notably, Sengkang East where Lee Li Lian was the incumbent.

If new MPs riding on the coat tails of Ministers via GRC are considered "parachuted into Parliament via backdoor", the same can be said of Pritam riding on the coat tails of veterans Low and Sylvia.

As far as GE 2015 is concerned, every MP fought his or her way into Parliament because there was no walkover.

Absolutely agree, abolish the GRCs and make all constituencies single seats and make every candidate fight for their seat, that is the true democracy. WP has always been against GRCs.

If Lee Li Lian had joined Aljunied GRC, she would be in Parliament now riding on the coat tail of Low Thai Khiang.

PM is not being unfair. PM runs the same risk as BG George Yeo, a very well-liked PAP Minister/MP considered to be heavy weight. George Yeo brought Ong Ye Kung down with him and poor Ong was in exodus for 4 years. PM could have suffered the same fate but the fact is majority of Singaporeans prefer PM and PAP to the opposition candidates.

So Pritam rides on the coat tail of Low Thia Khiang, but everyone diam diam. If Pritam had stood at Fengshan SMC or SengKang East, he would not be in Parliament now.

But I have digressed. The fact is there is no excuse for Pritam not performing in Parliament. There is no excuse for Pritam not speaking up on national issues. It's bloody joke that WP MPs fought so hard during GE only to speak about free parking for teachers in MOE schools. It's a fucking bloody joke !!!

The GRC system created by PAP are big teams of 4 to 6, the bigger the team the more difficult for the opposition. And with all the unfair odds stacked against the opposition, it's nearly impossible to win. For PAP, their backdoor MPs can be parachuted into parliament simply by riding the coat-tails of high profile ministers in their GRC team like LHL, Tharman, Khaw etc.

LTK is not a minister and he alone would not be able to win a GRC, he needs a very strong team to have any chance. Just look at Chiam, he left Potong Pasir to contest a GRC and lost.

Why didn't Ong Ye Kung contest in Aljunied again?? The reason is he could not be parachuted into parliament.

Why didn't Koh Poh Koon contest in Punggol East again?? The reason is he could not be parachuted into parliament.

Why did PAP field a suicide team in Aljunied?? The reason is because PAP are kiasu and kiasee.

Get real, there's no such thing as immunity for opposition MPs, as seen in the past, opposition MPs can still be sued by PAP.

When WP is on the campaign trial, it roars like a Tiger. Once in parliament, under parliamentary protection, it purrs like a kitten. U wonder why there was a 10% swing over to the PAP after the pathetic performance in parliament of the WP since 2011.

Pritam and anyone of the so many other lawyers in the WP should have offered their services pro bono to Roy or AMos. It would show at least they have some support for these 2 non politicians.
