Use of vulgar language by superior officers to shout down subordinates in army camps, I've heard from many army friends, are very common. That's uncommon in police academy, even during my days there.
That's true. Senior police officers are all gentlemen, civilised creatures and lead by example unlike the hooligans from the SAF. Take yours truly as an example. Thank you.

Jokes and movies aside, time for reality check. I don't think any army or police instructors would lay a finger on their trainees, whether Singapore or USA or wherever, unless there's a confirmed arrestable offence or in emergency self defence.
