Not officers' job to be vulgar. That's sergeant major's job.

PC (Platoon Commander) GMS did worse than that to his Ptes...

PC (Police Constable) Ram did worse than that to lockup detainees...:D

Jokes and movies aside, time for reality check. I don't think any army or police instructors would lay a finger on their trainees, whether Singapore or USA or wherever, unless there's a confirmed arrestable offence or in emergency self defence. Use of vulgar language by superior officers to shout down subordinates in army camps, I've heard from many army friends, are very common. That's uncommon in police academy, even during my days there.

That's true. Senior police officers are all gentlemen, civilised creatures and lead by example unlike the hooligans from the SAF. Take yours truly as an example. Thank you.

I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

The actor was a real drill instructor.
Got killed in the end, SAF also got many cases of recruits killing instructors.

SAF occifers now berry nice to their trainees, lest they kenna comprain and have to sign extra, thus burning their weekend and risking their galfriens kenna potong jalan by other homone raging army boys :D

I think so too. Even in PNSF barracks, they didn't used vulgar language on us. Drill was drill, training was training etc. Do it and that's it. I believe you were a senior officer and Ramseth should be one too, but this joker always pretend to be corporal and sometimes pretend to be constable only.

Nowadays in SAF, maybe not.
But during my time in NS, our platoon were both mentally and physically abused.
