Running a 5km in 25 minutes

There are too many kinds of running shoes.
Some are for easy run, tempo run, speed run and marathon etc

As casual runners, I only want to buy super shoes that is good for all kinds of run .

I am aiming for Novablast 5 as they are on sales now because ASICS will launch Novablast 6 in July 2026

If I have more money, I may want to buy ASICS Superblast 3
 
Yah, runner's knee. The knee cap cartilage gets injured from repetitive high impact. Trying using shoes with a flat sole, land on your midfoot instead of heels, shorten your strides, and slow down the pace. Slow jogging is best, esp for beginners.

I will cut down my running distance and join gym
 
Nowadays I run the same distance but cut down my speed, shorten my stride. I also do elliptical machine in gym for cardio.
I have made an appointment with anytime fitness tonight
I told them that I run 100km per month and I want to go to gym to avoid runner knees problems

From initial 7-8 km per run run till 2-3km
On day 28 -30. I can't even exert abit of strength like running or walking fast. My leg cramp. From thigh calf even toe will cramp.

How u manage to start train recently at age 50 plus to run 33min /5km.
That impressive.
For me I ran 20s years my timing year by year drop. U few weeks can do 6min pace is no easy feat

Running is good for my heart
My resting heart rate reduced from 68 to 60 in 6 months
But now I think I have runner knees
Used to run 3 times a week. Now only 2 times: 5km + 10km or 5km + 12km. Go to gym once.

My heart rate about 56-60/min

I started by brisk walking, then run walk method ,
Then hard run ,

Then easy run

Now my heart is stable, less cardio drift

But my legs no power
I want to run more and run faster but legs cannot make it
Main issue is legs, not heart

All together it takes about 7 to 8 months
