In Singapore, having a permanent job is necessary for most, if not all of us. But recently, more companies have begun offering fixed-term contracts as a long-term alternative to permanent positions. These so-called rolling contract positions are only renewed at the organisation's discretion, although most are (making them functionally equivalent to a permanent position, but without the job security).

Pap Govt should consider giving only permanent jobs to locals and placing all FT/PR on rolling contracts if employed by Govt bodies. Stop treating PRs and FTs as if they are entitled to same job security as the natives in Govt service.

Singapore is for Singaporeans; job security is for natives, not for PR/FT. If these PR/FT misbehave or commit crimes in sinkie land, revoke their permits and send them home. SG needs only PR/FT who can contribute to sinkie land, not scums like the banker who whacked elderly taxi driver and was fined instead of going to jail and getting the cane. Should sinkie land have such scums? Natives have to fight and die for sinkie land; FT/PR do not.
