Robinsons Singapore throws in the towel after 162 years

The exit puts an end to the at least six years of losses that Robinsons has chalked up against declining revenues.

ROBINSONS Singapore, one of the oldest retailers in the Republic with more than a century in business, will close down for good following losses in recent years. But its last two stores at The Heeren and Raffles City Shopping Centre may remain open for a while more for final sales.

Another one bites the dust.

I remember going to John Little at Plaza Singapura when it was having its closing down sale.

John Little lasted for 174 years. Too bad Robinsons cannot break the record.

Thoughts and prayers to the other businesses that were made kaput by the pandemic: Bakerzin, Sportslink etc.

I go Robinson to check the prices and note the model/ ref number.
Then I buy the Exact same item from Robinson Bkk.
Its at least 50% cheaper!!.

Well-hidden and big and has that special scent everytime I stepped inside.
And the toys department was huge.
