Robber beats pregnant woman to miscarriage

A pregnant woman in Jiangsu province had a miscarriage after she was beaten by a robber when she tried to stop him.

Cai was at a produce market with her husband around 3 am on Aug 13 when she heard a girl cry for help. Cai jumped on her bike and rode toward the girl, who was chasing three men.
The girl told Cai that the men had stolen her cellphone. Cai raced to the other side of the street and grabbed one of the men.
The man punched her in the stomach and tried to get away. Cai's husband rushed to the scene and pushed the robber to the ground.
Cai was hospitalized for one week complaining of stomach pain, and later had a miscarriage.
She told the Modern Express that she felt sympathetic toward the girl and wanted to help her.
