Crossing to mudland.
Riding from Singapore to Norway by land (as much as possible) is a huge journey covering about 15,000 km or more, depending on the exact route. Here's a general list of countries you'd typically pass through, assuming the most practical and open land borders:
- Singapore
- Malaysia
- Thailand
- Laos (or Cambodia as an alternative)
- China (needs special permits for foreign vehicles)
Note: Going through Myanmar is theoretically possible, but often closed to overland travelers. You'd typically bypass Myanmar via Laos or use a ferry if needed.

Depending on how you exit China, you'd pass through some combination of:
- Kazakhstan
- Russia (Still commonly used by overlanders)
Alternative to Russia (more complex, especially due to visas, security, or border access):
- Kyrgyzstan
- Uzbekistan
- Turkmenistan (strict entry rules)
- Azerbaijan (then ferry across the Caspian Sea to Georgia)
- Georgia
- Turkey
Once you're in Turkey or Russia, enter Europe and go north through:
- Ukraine (currently not recommended due to war)
Safer detour:
- Romania
- Hungary
- Slovakia
- Poland
- Germany
- Denmark
- Sweden (or ferry to Norway)
- Norway
Summary of Possible Countries (Typical Overland Route):
- Singapore
- Malaysia
- Thailand
- Laos
- China
- Kazakhstan
- Russia
- Latvia / Lithuania / Estonia (optional if passing through the Baltics)
- Finland or Sweden
- Norway
