Take a look at the US where those who arrived on the Mayflower are considered the blue bloods of society i.e. the Brits. Then you have the Irish wave, many who left Ireland due to famine, poverty, crowding,.... Over time they established themselves e.g. the Kenedys

I'm not that familar with Aust history but I know that those who can trace lineage to the original convicts of Aust are proud of their lineage.
