Hi SBF brothers,

On 8 December 2013, our first riot (in decades) took place in Little India of Singapore.

But 8 December is significant too for another reason - the death of John Lennon.

May be the lyrics of this song will encourage us to love and respect these (foreign) South Asian/Indian workers, working in Singapore. You know, they all do lead a very difficult life. They leave their families behind in their homeland to come all the way here to work for a very low income. Very often, they are badly treated by their (Singaporean) bosses. We do not hate them, we ought to hate the PAP policies. Thanks.

"Imagine"

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Forrest Gump gave Lennon the inspiration for this song...

Actually, I was still very young during the peak years of the Beatles. So, I was too young to understand the lyrics of their songs then even though I liked the tunes.

What other songs by John Lennon/Beatles did you like?
