Remember This?

Once in a while on early Sunday mornings I would park the car besides Lau Pa Sat and I would walk with my dog towards the Waterfront facing Clifford Per and the Customs House.. Will sit there for a while and light a ciggie enjoying the mornin breeze and observing the many changes that took place around the area.. Seafarers used to stand outside Clifford Pier waiting for taxis.. No more seafarers now but the sight of the tourists waiting for taxis outside the new The Fullerton Bay Hotel...

used to have this empty space behind clifford pier with chee cha stall customers sitting there having lunch. very peaceful, over seeing marina bay with all the boats mooring there. a lot of office workers will cross over from raffles place to have lunch here and enjoy the view. on the left wings have some eateries which is a stone throw away from one fullerton. knn! how i miss the place!!! i mean the place it used to be, not now the hotel.

Back then I browse around 'ang teng bei thou'...I would be hearing the song "brandy, you are fine girl, what a good wife you would be, your eyes would steal a sailor from the sea" By The Looking Glass...what memories, Clifford Pier, the sea, the boats, the crowds especially when it is KUSU month, the overhead bridge shopping & the old Change Alley.

yes, especially during kusu pilgrimage season. so many people queuing up to board the penguin ferries to go kusu to pray to the tua pek kong temple.
