Sinkie guys spend close to 2 years in green, tekan under sun, put studies and career on hold, miss internships, delay graduation, lose earning power during the most critical compounding years of our lives.

After that? Still got ICT every year, IPPT, call-ups that mess with work schedules, reservist cycles that drag on for a decade or more.

Meanwhile, recently i came across a young Msian chinese couple who got their Singapore citizenship. Both working here and got their BTO. They openly talked about how they plan to maximise the system here and cash out in future and potentially retire back in Malaysia.

The guy never served NS.

Enjoying the same passport. Same stability. Same benefits. Same safety we literally helped defend.

Built partly on the backs of the guys who had no choice but to serve.

And before anyone says “don’t blame them” — I’m not blaming them . If the system allows it, obviously people will optimise. Anyone would.

But tell me honestly — are Singaporean men not supposed to feel salty?
