Think about it, not only will we have a stronger military based on numbers, but in the context of a failing TFR it means national security is not affected by the TFR. What's more, this is also a form of gender equality, and good civic education because hardship and suffering is the only way to learn resilience, humility and perseverance (in other words, the life skill of sucking up and shutting up). Plus, a side effect could be that males and females work together, and eventually one thing could lead to another and the TFR may be reversed.

(last point is a bit tenuous I know but the first two points are literally pressing issues in Singapore now)
