Is Roti Canai consider as Low Caste food?

r/malaysia - Is Roti Canai consider as Low Caste food?

A question to Indian in r/malaysia.

Here the story of i was handling a client from India last week with my boss, i drove my boss and this guy to the restaurant where my boss pick lah while me im not used to this restaurant (some high end west cuisine place) so go somewhere else.

My restaurant or should i say mamak in the same area as my boss restaurant. I ordered and waiting my food, suddenly got call from my boss, the client no like the restaurant my Boss pick so want to change area so I said "ala bos dah order makan ni, xkn nak blah skrg" so my bos said "ok2 we go your place" then i ask "tu India ok ke?" and my bos said "dia mau tukar tempat, we kasi dia rasa makanan Malaysia lah" and i sent the location of my place

The bos and the client came and i could see the client look amaze or perplexed cause he only speak English and when the Indian that ask him what to it in Tamil, the client froze so my boss ordee for him

Long story short, my food came first its actually roti canai lah(2 actually) so while waiting for their food the client lookin around and i can see the workers speak Tamil ( maybe referring to my client or not i dont know i dont speak Tamil ). Then the client ask me, "you know this food( he pointing at my roti canai) it for slaves, low caste Indian" and i was surprised and ask "how so?" He said " you know history?"How Indian come here? With the British? They are slaves to the British. As slaves, they only eat cheap food, cheap like this. Only low caste Indian eat this, higher caste Indian eat something else. you see how the paratha made thin, simple ingredients like flour, easy simple low quality, that is what you eat right now. Better you order this,( he points at a tosai? The one that is with chicken) the one that he actually pick.

So he ask "you should change your food" but i said to him "er i already eaten one slice and i dont want to waste food" and my boss change food lah "order something else" so I think my boss fear the client becomes mad if I keep eating roti canai infront of him so i throw the one roti canai and order Laksa Penang instead.

Sorry for the long ass text but seriously is Roti Canai (one of Malaysia beloved dish) is considered as low caste food in India?
