If your shoes were stolen from outside your house, have you ever gotten them back?​

I know most people don't ever see their shoes again, but if you actually did, what were the exact circumstances? Did you have their faces on CCTV and submitted it to the police or something? Did they end up returning the shoes or compensating you?

I'm trying to decide if it's worth asking my condo management for the CCTV footage from the lifts. But my condo only has CCTV in the lifts and at the first floor lobby — none along the residential corridor... To make matters worse, I don't even know the exact day/time my shoes got stolen because my family leaves quite a few pairs outside our unit (yes... lesson learned the hard way ), so I only noticed when I wanted to wear that specific pair. It could've happened anytime over probably 3–4 days.

Also, if anyone has recommendations for good CCTV door cameras, please let me know :')
