Felt cheated by CDG Zig for hidden fees

General

As any young adult would, I was comparing prices across a few ride hailing apps and ended up selecting CDG Zig metered fare when I saw that the range was reason at between $20-$27 as compared to others at almost $30 flat fare at 1am. Pardon me being a noob but I have never selected metered taxi before as flat fees were usually the best option.

Never did I know it was the worst decision ever and yup, blame me all you want for wanting to save some bucks or you can call me cheapo all you want.

I was picked up by an Alphard which charged me the following hidden charges which weren’t shown clearly during selection.

- Current Booking Charge $2.30
- Midnight Charge $11.15
- Platform Fee $1.30
- Admin Fee $3.70
- GST for Admin Fee $0.33
Total extra charge $18.78

Metered Fare $22.25
Total fare $41.03

For flat fee, you pay for what you see plus perhaps ERP fee which is expected. All these hidden fees are really ridiculous and how it jacks up my final fare to that of a limousine really grinds my gears.

Are metered taxis all like that with all the underlying fees that one can’t see unless we zoom all the way to their t&c or ride details to see? I mean if flat fees could be as simple as getting charged for what’s shown, its only fair that metered taxis does the same and lay out all possible fees CLEARLY for passengers to be awar prior to booking and not search high and low for them while deciding which type of car to book right?
