Fainting scam?​

This happened a few years ago. Until now I still feel a bit weird.

So I was walking home one day and there was this guy in front of me walking with a plastic bag of 2 dragon fruits. He was wearing a mask even tho it wasn't required anymore at that time.

Then suddenly he did a 90 deg clockwise turn in front of me and collapsed. Blocking the entire walkway. (Pics for reference) For some reason, the way he collapsed feels off and my guard was on. On the floor he was gasping for air a bit too weird. Like if you're short of breath, you can just remove your mask. His one hand was free. He wasn't running or anything or carrying anything heavy. And he wasn't that old. Looked like late 30s, early 40s. And he was looking at me for help. Tbh I was stunned but a bit skeptical. I didn't know what to do.

There was a couple in front. The girl turned and saw the guy gasping for air, but they just quickly walked away. Left me alone for quite a while. Honestly I didn't know what to do cause it just felt fake to me but half of me wanted to call an ambulance. So I just stood there feeling lost. I remember looking around but there was no one.

After what felt like forever, an uncle came up behind me on the walkway. I looked at him in desperation and he saw the fainted guy. The uncle went to pat the fainted guy a few times until the fainted guy woke up. Then the uncle was asking the fainted guy whether was he ok and helped him sit up. suddenly another guy came out from the hdb and told us to leave. The new guy say he will stay with the fainted guy and make sure he is ok. That felt weird. Like where is this new guy from? I didn't see him from before

While leaving I heard the fainted guy say very loudly in Chinese "I lie down for very long already". If he really fainted why would he know he lie down for very long alr?

Idk this whole situation feels weird and off to me. Feels like a scam but idk what they can get out of me? Cause it's a residential area if I scream, ppl probably can hear. And it's not like a tourist area and they can pick pocket me? The whole thing is just weird.

I have seen ppl faint on the spot ppl but not a turn before they faint. Is this normal?
