Excessive Joss Stick Burning in 5RM HDB Flat, Need SERIOUS Advice.
Hi guys, i really really need genuine advice for this matter. Just a bit of context, My selfish father is a crazy addicted Buddhist to the point we have a whole Altar at home like temple size. He places Buddha in the middle, Di Zhang Wang and Guan Yin on sides. The hypocrite part is his marriage failed and currently in the midst of divorce.
During special festive months, like hungry ghost, moon cake, vesak day etc… he will burn 100 joss sticks at one go (I kid you not) and the whole house becomes so damn smoky and formaldehyde is everywhere in the house??? On top of the 100 joss sticks, he buys those 24 hours long thicker joss stick and burns it??? (He gets all his joss stick from JB)
Since today is the 1st day of February, he believes in the Chinese new year month and will burn excessive amount of joss stick everyday till the end of the month??? Im pretty sure religious wise he is doing too much? Like he doesnt if have to do it?? To add on, he closes the house door and the windows and also off the fan in the hall while having his food on the dining table? Its like he is trying to recreate the smoky while cloudy atmostphere in the hall like he is in heaven?
Fortunately for him, my neighbours just close their doors and I have no choice but to hide in my room with my xiaomi air purifer. I just cant wait for the divorce to finalised to finally breath fresh air and not have headache everyday. I have tried talking to him but he really really is a selfish individual and doesnt care about people’s opinions. (He uses the toilet and does clean up after himself after using and people have to clean up for him, quarrelled with him but he doesnt accept the reality of whats happening)
Is there anything i can do to make him stop his excessive joss stick burning? Does reporting to NEA works? I really cant stand this anymore. To add on, he has been fined by the courts currently in the divorce proceedings, is it possible to get him fined for the joss stick burning so he will stop? Does reporting to the police helps? I am so done.
