Real reason Founding Daughter feuds with Chief Natural Aristocrat and "Buy High, Sell

A little bird from the West whispered to me the other day Founding Daughter has been unhappy ever since she learned that she did not inherit a swanky office building in Manhattan, a posh apartment in London and a gleaming office tower in downtown Tokyo. Moreover her inheritance is about 20 billion USD less than the combined inheritances that her two brothers got from Old Fart.

She blames "Buy High Sell Low" for it. Chief Natural Aristocrat is Old Fart's favorite son. As the former is the sitting prime minister and very busy with running the affairs of Sinkieland, Old Fart entrusted his daughter-in-law with his vast wealth and appointed her executor of his multi-billion US dollar estate.

I don't think it's just about the money or even that money was even a key reason. LWL has always been fiercely independent and takes after her father in many ways. I suspect her brother's lack of sincerity in honouring Old Man's wishes and his selfish use of the LKY name for his own gain is the more impt factor here.

For kids on their position, their political privilege is so enormous that money actually becomes secondary. Once you have been brought up in that cacoon of privilege, a hundred million here or there doesn't really matter.

All indications are that LWL will bequeth all her wealth to a one particular hospital in the US and one in Singapore to do research. This is not about wealth.

This is about being counted and she has now realised that she has no standing with the demise of her father. The reaction to me was not about a power struggle but she felt her personal space and where has a link to the public is being shut down.

This family is too tight for this episode to change things.

The irony is that she used Cheong's book to launch her tirade. And she also stated she just read th book. In that book there are multiple cases of censorship, abuse of power and her father demanding various journalists to be sacked. One of the worse is a journalist recalled back to do his NS despite completing it. Its like ISIS complaining about cruelity to animals.

Now, does this episode put a quantum magnitude 'lost' by the government, i.e., country's money, just by scrapping the Estate Duty? It's probably in Billions 'lost' or not collected on behalf of country.

But I know humans will be humans and greed is number one human nature.

surely you're not going to ask him such a question when he cannot answer it himself since he has never had such wealth nor been at such an elite level. A better person to ask would be say bill gates what 100 million is like or even better donald trump in which 100 mill shouldn't be a huge amount to him and who is running for political office at his own expense with hardly any sponsers.
