M. Ravi seeks second opinion on medical condition
Lawyer M. Ravi, whose psychiatrist declared him unfit to practise last week, is said to have sought a second opinion about his condition on Monday night.
According to a Facebook posting by his friend, Mr Ravi had checked himself in for 'an observation session', and was found by the medical professional to be fit for discharge. When contacted, the lawyer declined to comment on his hospital visit or who examined him, but referred to the Facebook post.
Mr Ravi has also filed a notice of motion with the Court of Appeal to set aside the death sentence of Malaysian citizen Cheong Chun Yin - who was handed the sentence for drug trafficking - and to have the case re-tried, according to legal documents provided by his office to the media on Tuesday.
On Monday, he also sent a letter of demand to the Law Society of Singapore and its official Wong Siew Hong charging that their conduct amounted to defamation and demanding compensation and a public apology.
