As you guys know there are ppl in all cultures that believe in lucky charms or praying to certain gods or behaving in a certain manner to increase one's luck. This has been termed superstitution. Yet ppl still continue to believe in them. A gambler probably wears red undies for eg when he goes betting. Ppl still pray to their gods to give them luck. This occurs across all religions.
I'm not really sure if science has ever attempted to investigate on this phenomenon know as luck. I guess in scientific terms luck is just simply chance therefore there's no deep explaination behind luck. Some ppl just simply gain more in life for no apparent reason. Yet there are others that seem to be at the opposite spectrum. There's a term to describe them, they are called jinxes. Yet if luck is just simply based on chance theoretically shouldn't everyone have a 50-50 chance of having good and bad luck? Yet this isn't the case some ppl have good luck majority of their time and others the opposite.
I do wonder if there is some sort of unknown force or energy that governs luck. Something like karma in buddhism. Karma in buddhism is like a law similar to the laws of gravity. The thing is the force of gravity has been established, it's now in the realm of science. A law like karma isn't. Like when will you get karma if you commit a bad deed? How soon? Will it be in the life time? Or the next? Shit like that.
Back to the topic is luck some sort of sentient force then? Like praying to a god would enable one to increase one's luck.
Also wonder if there's any type of energy or force that's still not been discovered by science.
