Great World City mall has free shuttle buses every day, going to Queenstown, Chinatown and Newton separately.

The Newton bus service ends a bit later than the other two, at around 10pm.

...and also shuttle services from outside tiong bahru plaza bus stop(with store) morning and evening..there is a schedule list at GWC lobby

FYI, still long queue, but worth a visit.
Only the cockles are smaller/medium size.

Went to Eng Kee at 16 storey Tanglin Halt for lunch today - one of the best fried chicken wings in Singapore

Arrived there 12.30 short queue not so bad

The wings - every bite on every piece you can feel the juiciness.

My all time favourite is Ah Dee used to be found at the URA carpark at Dempsey however due to development he had moved up Dempsey Hill at the row of restaurants where Muthu's Curry is.

Went on Saturday night. From far it looks like some kind of party going on

Yesterday before leaving Singapore for Bangkok went to buy takeaway durians at Ghim Moh, Ah Seng Durian stall became famous when owner was jailed for 3 weeks and fined for under-declaring over $700k of income.

The stall

No smell at all, checked-in lugage

Yummy - Thai durians even their best variety cannot stand close to this mao-san-wang

When I am in Bangkok, I will have the sticky rice with durian and/or mango.

This is very rare but one can still get a filling meal at $2.50 in Singapore. Recently opened Lor Mee and Prawn Noodle stall in Mei Chin Market at Mei Ling Street Queenstown.

Market 2nd floor hawker centre

There are 2 innovations I saw in this stall - queuing system and automatic cooking noodle

The stall that sells Lor Mee and Prawn Noodle - people are queuing to make their order and taking queue number

The receipt has a queue number so just watch this counter who will be calling for you

Deep fryer - freshly fried dory fish

Automatic boiling noodle like some ramen kitchen

$2.50 prawn noodle - even though it is cheap doesn't mean its not nice, surprisingly the soup is rich in prawn flavour and has a old school style of taste, simple yet great prawn noodle I will definitely come back for more

$2.50 lormee - 2 large pieces of fish and half egg, so its cheap yet generous with the ingredients, gravy is nicely even and taste of stew base and herbs its nice

Compare the above to this $3.50
