On Tuesday, McDonald's announced it would close all of it's 847 locations in Russia, but would continue to pay its 62,000 employees, after Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine.

But that could change.

"Russia has effectively legalized patent theft from anyone affiliated with countries “unfriendly” to it, declaring that unauthorized use will not be compensated. If the Russians can unilaterally seize the assets of western companies without a proper court arbitration, so can the West go about seizing the assets of all the Russian oligarchs instead of just freezing their overseas assets.
