TL;DR: I’m a psychologist offering free curated matchmaking as a pilot business initiative. If the process and terms work for you, sign up via the Google Form at the end and I’ll follow up.

Committing to a long-term partner is one of the most pivotal decisions a person can make — we spend a LOT of time and effort searching for “the one”.

I’m Gwyn, a social psychologist by training who’s considering a matchmaking career. I believe dating can be intentionally crafted to help people grow and achieve better partnering outcomes.

So I’m launching a small, structured pilot for curated matchmaking grounded in relationship science.

Two major pain points I observed in r/sgdatingscene:

1. Many people here want to meet. But the meetups don’t happen because people don’t reach out or the online convo fizzles out before they get there.
2. Online dating fatigue - no matches, ghosting, people being half-hearted because of a “abundance of choices”, feeling replaceable

This curated matchmaking model

- Guarantees an in-person meeting

- Reduces profile-based preconceptions, creating space for authentic connections

- Provides structured support and a balanced perspective in the process

The process, step-by-step

1. Fill in the Google Form below with your name and phone number. Numbers are collected to filter out spam and anon accounts (those concerned about privacy, see PDPA/confidentiality section below).
2. In-person consultation.

1. We meet to clarify your relationship goals, values, personality, and identify patterns.
2. The meetup.
3. If there is a strong match, I coordinate a time and publ

2. Post-date review.
3. Following the date, we meet again to discuss and reflect on the date. This feedback loop is what improves match quality over time.

Important considerations

- Meetups are blind dates - you will be provided with minimal info on who you are meeting i.e. no exchanging of photos or prior chatting. Please ensure that you are OK with this to avoid disappointment.

This arrangement is deliberate to minimise preconceptions, such that the first date is more organic and authentic. Your preferences and dealbreakers are still important. All participants will be vetted thoroughly.

- The (scientific) principle I use in matchmaking is assortative mating — compatibility through meaningful similarity. Matches will be curated based on principles from relationship science, focusing on alignment in values, life stage, personality, etc.

- Participation is free for this initial pilot cycle.

Disclosure that if there is sufficient demand, I may formalise and monetise the model in the future, but not now. If other steps are requested, a separate discussion can be had. However, there will be no hard-selling or deliberate deviation from the above standard.
