SINGAPORE — Steps to optimise the time commitment required of national servicemen are being considered by the Committee to Strengthen National Service (CSNS).

The CSNS, which is reviewing public feedback gathered from consultation efforts this year, said that the development of a professional training cadre will improve the full-time NS training system, according to a statement by the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) today (Dec 5),


The Committee also discussed measures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of National Service (NS) administration, such as improving the Mindef notification centre process, the NS portal, and facilitating make-up training for NSmen who miss their in-camp training.

The CSNS noted that it was important to make NS administration processes more convenient for NSmen, so that they can perform their NS duties effectively.
