Tenants from hell got police to chase me out of my own house
STOMPer Norah was shocked to read about the experiences of this blogger who claims that her tenant is refusing to pay rent and even calling the police to chase her out of her own property. The blogger also claimed that she was body searched by the police as the tenant had accused her of theft.
In the STOMPer's email:
"I was blog hopping and I was shocked to read a blog that was written by this person.
"She is having a bad encounter and seems to have totally lost control of her tenant who is living in her 4-room flat at Pasir Ris.
"The story sounds so horrible that even the police is favouring the tenant and even threatened to arrest the owners.
"They even did a body search on her!"
An excerpt of the blog reads:
"My tenants refuse to move out and even ask the police to chase me out from my house. My planning 10 years down the road is gone because of this guy and his wife.
"My tenant from hell owns two cars but can't afford a house and can't even pay the rent and utilities bills.
"Despite not paying rent, they refused to move out and asked me for $6300 as compensation. They even called the police to chase me out of my own house.
"There were 10 of them shouting and forcing me out of my house. I don't know what my offence or crime is.
"Last week, his son broke into the house with a sick dog that was bleeding. I pity the son and the dog but the tenants from hell don't care a damn about his son and this is not the first time he is being chased away. To my horror, my kitchen was also burnt.
"The male tenant also hurled vulgarities at my mum when I asked him for payment and slammed the door at me and claimed that my house is his and eventually called the police to chase me away.
"I am wondering about my rights as a Singapore citizen and house owner.
"I managed to remove half of the funiture but eventually the police came and alleged that I threatened and pushed his son. I was also accused of harassing the wife at work until I had to be chased away by the security guards.
"I'm being chased away from my own property and was body searched because he claimed that I stole from the tenant."
