His Chinese is really atrocious.

Not as bad as Tony Tan though.

It was funny to see how Low Thia Khiang had to step in to rescue him. He didn't know what to say and maybe he was a bit too excited/nervous.

Similarly, Teo Chee Hean had to step in to rescue Desmond Choo at the latter's press conference after the results. In fact, it looked like Teo Chee Hean was his father, and Desmond Choo was nothing more than an obedient and filial son.

Congrats to Png nonetheless.

If he has intended to throw a mandarin speech, he should has rehearsed it. And he has a whole cooling-off day to do it, what had he been doing???
Maybe forummers here can suggest some good websites where he can take some online lessons. Or he can approach GMS, very tau kong in mandarin!

think WP and PAP really thought that they would lose so they never apply for assembly center and prepare thank you speech.

hopefully ah huat will huat more in parliament...

he is really not good enuff.

How do you define good stuff? A smooth talker does not necessarily mean good. Remember the average Singaporean speaks like that or worse.

The best website to learn Chinese

www.sexymandarin.com

I suggest that Png (and others, including Tony Tan) starts visiting this site regularly from now on to improve his Chinese

Its ok.. Not all PAP MPs can speak Chinese well too..

He won the BE.. Thats the most important thing..

He can brush up on his Chinese later..

Congratulations to Mr Png for being elected MP for Hougang SMC..

if you are an MP, you must speak well and if you have to speak in the highest forum in the land, you have to be well-prepared or you must be able to think on your feet, if you are an average singaporean, then you porbably is not good enuff to be an MP. you made my point.
