That is why he is working hard to play catching up. Which PM in the world has the benefit of a SM and MM to mentor him. Now he is seeking his 2nd term as PM, the mentoring should stop.
He is no more an "intern" that needs help.

Old Man and Woody will find any ways and means to stay in power and draw million-dollars salaries. They will just say they should stay on and mentor the new PAP ministers.
Have to admit that our PM is really spoon-fed all the way, from two mentors to crucial foreign relations being handled by his father.

Well the PM has to step up.
Having the 2 mentors around is not helping. I think the SM and MM should step down to let him be his own man. We can continue to pay the SM and MM for stepping down.

LHL is more meek, gaffe-prone in speeches, but do go out of his way to be approachable. However, he can't handle things on his own and always have to rely on a strong crutch to stand.
LKY is more fierce and uncompromising with an I-am-always-right mentality, fiery speeches that can make people captivated no matter how stupid it is and is unapproachable.
LHL is the nice, caring but dumb idiot.
LKY is the slimy, sneaky and cunning person whom you always have to be vigilant about. But you cannot deny that he is charming and convincing when he speaks.

inherently speaking... both same.. one sprout off the other.. but One seems to always perpetually living in the shadow of the other even the after the former had already retreated into the suppose "shady" part of political realm of being just "advisory" and "visionary".
Truth is, can the Old man really give up power and stop ruling by proxy? He has already said he cannot think of ever retiring unless he drops dead. He can go without water, food, sex, but deny him power, and he'll shrivel up.
It's his (Old Man's) karma if his son cannot emerge from his shadow. I fuck care if his son can be his own man. I concern myself with Singapore and the capability to rebound after the repression is removed. Far as I'm concerned, he and his cronies have done enough damage. I just dont think that the system he leaves behind will endure. Singapore's political system and institutions should be designed and fitted such that even the weakest govt can still govern, and not by an oligarchy of chosen elites who repress opposing views and dissent to rule by force.

I wonder, is LHL the one who wants to break free but his overprotective father prevented him from doing so, or LHL is the one who requested and probably even begged his father to stay on and show him the ropes.
We should not continue paying for SM and MM for stepping down, they are not even doing anything and there are many old men their ages struggling to keep up with the rising costs of living and doing work.

How do you know LHL is "nice"? Words alone cannot be trusted. At least when LKY says knuckle-dusters and hatchet, he is laying his card on the table. For LHL, have u heard of the cantonese saying, being a pig to eat the tiger?
My question was wrongly phrased. I should have used the word "morals". How do u compare LHL and LKY in terms of morals?

LKY sticks to what he believes in and does have the country's interests at heart. However, the methods in which he did to achieve such success is unconventional and can be even called ruthless. He is close to Josef Stalin as they both are desperate for good statistics.
LHL is less fierce and more compromising, partly due to his sheltered childhood. He has no backbone when dealing with his colleagues. A bumbling fool like Wong Kan Seng will not have been able to stay on during his father's era. He can be dirty, but loses to the Old Man in terms of being crafty and sly.
This is just my 2 cents as I am neither experienced nor knowledgeable about the morals of father and son.

LHL reminds me of Bill Clinton, showing himself to be nice and approachable, but the gaffes made during his leadership were painted over his own policies.
