[h=2]Singapore pinoy PR: I want to be recognized as a Filipino and NS is not going to change that[/h]Posted by temasektimes on June 2, 2012
He may have been in Singapore for six years, but he still a Filipino by heart and National Service is not going to change his view, said Singapore pinoy PR Martin Cuda.In an interview with Channel News Asia on the sensitive issue of new citizens and PRs serving NS, Martin who is going to be enlisted in three years’ time said:“I have adapted some Singapore traits…but I want to be a Filipino, I want to be recognized as a Filipino and NS is not going to change that for me.”Martin felt it is fair that he is serving NS to give back to Singapore which has taken care of him.Another Singapore PR James Du who had served NS admitted that it is a positive experience to mix with Singaporeans from all walks of life and to integrate in Singapore society. However he does not think it is necessary to make NS mandatory for new citizens and PRs who are past the enlistment age as they will be too old by then and they will be contributing to Singapore in other ways as well.Watch the interview below:

In USA, every black want to be recognised as American. You don't call them "African".
In USA, every Mexican who sneaked across the border will do anything and everything to get the Green Card and be recognised as American.
In USA, people of Italian descent want to be recognised as American, not Italian.
In Singapore, they all want to be their own citizen while enjoying the good life here, a standard of living -- jobs, security, stability, medical, social services - they could not find back in their country of origin.
There is only one reason -- unlike America where everyone has an American Dream, where you feel you belong to a Great Country -- Singapore is not a great country. The Filipino is here because he has a Filipino Dream - to enjoy everything he can enjoy over here but still remain a Filipino.
If ever a war breaks out, the Pinoy won't be around to draw his rifle.

Fair enough. He can't choose where he wants to be born but he can choose not to serve NS.

Re: Pinoy PR: I want to be recognized as a Filipino and NS is not going to change tha

i bet the PAP and those gleefully reporting this piece of news just love it to death! Here they finally have a textbook rebuttal to singaporean's claim that FTs are not true singaporeans because they did not serve NS. When in NS, this 3rd world piece of buffalo manure should be takan by his NCOs and officers until he become another death statistic. Then we see whether others dare to want to do NS or not.

Re: Pinoy PR: I want to be recognized as a Filipino and NS is not going to change tha

If Singaporeans can do reservist until 40-45 then why new citizens less than 40 cannot join the army or even the PDF to learn some civil defence skills? These stupid FT kids have the cheek to say that those above 18-20 are old and yet Singaporeans have to serve active combat duty until 40-45. As expect the prostitute media just accepts the reply without asking deeper questions or bringing up the subject of Singaporeans going for reservist until 40-45.

Re: Pinoy PR: I want to be recognized as a Filipino and NS is not going to change tha

With so much of our country internal workings being ultra reliance on foreigners, there is no more country or army or sovereignty in existence here anymore.

We have been overrun without a shot being fired.

What in existence now is a spectacle of order held together by money.

Once money dissipates, order will be lost.

No different from 75% of Sinkies who still call themselves CHINESE when most have never set foot in the country.

On the other hand, this guy spent his formative years growing up in the Philippines. His sentiments are understandable.

By your reasoning, people have to work as whores before they know what a whore does for a living

Hi Fool,

Chinese as an ethnic / racial group. Not as a nationality.
Unlike you being called a fool, as you are truly one in every sense of the word.

And a Filipino isn't????

"Twit" is too mild a word for your level of intellect.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filipino_people

The Filipino people or Filipinos are an Austronesian ethnic group native to the islands of the Philippines. There are about 94 million Filipinos in the Philippines,[SUP][19][/SUP] and about 11 million living outside the Philippines.[SUP][20][/SUP]

As a regressive, backward, bastardized mix of Austronesian (ethnic Malay), Spanish, White, and yes, some Chinese. Yes, they are a hotpot of bullshitting fools. Some do have Chinese surnames. Leong is one of them.

The truth hurts. Your greatest stupidity is having the short form of a name of Hebrew origin and a distinctively Chinese surname, the same name as a road in Little India. Painting a pile of shit yellow and sticking a cherry on top doesn't make it a cheesecake. Finding an alternative to the most common term for a fool ( which is 'a fool' ) doesn't make you less of one.

If you can't tell the difference between and internet moniker and a name, you're an even bigger moron than I first thought.

You have been exposed for the twit that you are. You've made a fool of yourself for shooting your mouth off without thinking. You might get away with it somewhere else but not in this forum.

Re: Pinoy PR: I want to be recognized as a Filipino and NS is not going to change tha

Kudos to your parents for not giving you such a name. You adopted it yourself. You even defend the indefensibly stupid.

You won't let me get away with "shooting my mouth off". I am simply telling you and others what you are.

Re: Pinoy PR: I want to be recognized as a Filipino and NS is not going to change tha

Is it just me or does the Pinoy looks like he is almost certain to be classified as 302!!! In any case he doesnt even speak like a pinoy anymore

Re: Pinoy PR: I want to be recognized as a Filipino and NS is not going to change tha

@mark
So the Chinese are one homogenous stock? People the length and breadth of China all look different. I find more similarity amongst Filipinos.

At last count, there were 56 officially recognised ethnic groups in China but this moron seems to think there is only one.

Re: Pinoy PR: I want to be recognized as a Filipino and NS is not going to change tha

No Satyr, they are not. The yellow race, consisting of Koreans and Japanese too, is of one parent stock though. Many Chinese are some what "diluted", though retaining the characteristics.

They are marked by their extremes. One extreme is of their cruelty, barbarism, resourcefulness, greed, cowardice, and lack of long term vision. Yet they are also the greatest pool of intelligence, defined by IQ, in this world.

Go to the Philipines. They have great uniformity in their love of karaoke, love of sex, inclination to corruption, and lack of objective reasoning. Yes, I admit I once used to go there and liked to screw their "Eurasian" woman. That was when I could only reason at a level not much higher than SamLeong's.
