He said"Without growth, he stressed at a speech to the Economic Society of Singapore, the country had 'no chance of improving the collective well-being'."
But with this short cut method to growth, it is destroying the very thing we strive to achieve. Our national identity, our space to live in, our quality of life, our country.
I travel a lot for work, sometimes I wake up it takes a while to figure out where i am. Now...I walk out and dun feel like I am in singapore .
What collective well being?? Our own 40+ PMEB are getting retrenched, and lots of them are now taxi drivers, insurance sales man, property agents, unemployed........
HDB price doubled in a few years, Coe almost 100k, collective well being??? For who????
I dare not think how my children can survive when they grow up. Collective well being???????
What is life when the only thing you do is study hard, work long hours for 50yrs to pay up the housing loan, retire at 75 and die.??? Collective well being??
Well being is not about money ...mr PM Lee , it's about the quality , space , and time spent with your love ones. Not too long ago I went to botanic gardens with my daughter, we were at a pavillion, layed out our picnic mat , she was doing her drawing... They came this group of philipino , they obviously wanted the place we had, so they started doing funny things like taking off shoes, talking aloud, lying on the floor, ...when I got fed up, I asked my daughter to pack up, one of them said " thank you, your country is very bueariful, hahaha" frankly I would have gave him a punch in the face if my daughter was not there.
If the gov does not wake up, physical violence will erupt sooner then later, if I get into this situation again, and my daughter is not there, I am quite sure I will let him have it. Enough of being bullied by them in our own country.
