At the Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru National Day celebration dinner, residents also sang a birthday song for Mr Lee, who turns 90 on Sept 16 next month.

Mr Lee, 89, was not feeling well yesterday, but showed up to celebrate the occasion with about 900 residents. The Tanjong Pagar Member of Parliament (MP) and former Prime Minister waved to the audience and drew rapturous applause as he walked slowly onto the stage.

Mr Lee, who paused several times during his speech, advised English-speaking parents to send their children to a pre-school that is strong in Chinese “as early as possible”, and for Mother Tongue-speaking parents to send their children to a pre-school strong in English.

A sea of Por Lumpars congregating around a half-dead - it sure makes a remarkable sight and shows how urgently reform is needed to rid the country of cronyism and traitors.

The FAPs enjoying their abalone soup and sumptuous garoupa whereas a peasant like me has to scrounge for a can of campbell chicken soup and packet of ikan bilis. :o

Mr Lee's love and concern for his country is so great that he's obviously willing to make huge sacrifices to ensure that country remains prosperous.

Hat's off to him for showing up despite the fact that he was feeling unwell.

If we can just show a little of respect to an elderly statesman, it will go a long way in building a great nation. Nothing to do with cronyism or with por lumpars.

I totally agree.
Despite being unwell, he still attended the National Day Parade.
He struggled to launch his Book so that the world will learn from him.
He still attended his National Day Celebration at TP.
This is a sign of a great leader who wants to be with his people, to be with his country and to feel proud of his creation.
Mr Lee is a great man, a great leader and a humble man.

He looked sullen as they all clapped in unison. Haha, now he knows these dogs are not really sincere.
