ever wondered why public perception may sometime be far from the truth? maybe i'll list some observations to boot.

1. Civil Servants should be non-partisan and act in neutrality but why do the public view them as pro-PAP?

2. Peoples Association and Community Clubs are non-partisan entities, quasi-governmental at the most, but why do the public view them as PAP entities?

i got a shock when i heard a couple of Civil Servants saying that PA is PAP entity. why? why is the public perception so warped?

:confused::confused::confused:

questions:

are RCs quasi-governmental, neutral or PAP entities?

i'd view Singapore as a sovereign nation with its National flag, Anthem and Pledge.

but i vaguely recalled that someone mentioned the Singapore Pledge was only an aspiration? another person saying Singapore isn't a country but a City? i'm truly confused now.

According to the OED, "pledge" is a "serious promise".

Singapore is a city-state, for the capital city itself is also a state (that is, country or nation).
