Oral Answer by Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Acting Minister for Manpower, to Parliamentary Question on Non-Renewal of Employment Passes in the First Half of 2013

Notice Paper No. 275 of 2013 For The 3rd Available Sitting
Question No. 1335 For Oral Answer

MP: Mr R Dhinakaran

To ask the Minister for Manpower (a) how many foreign employment passes are not renewed in the first half of this year; and (b) what is the breakdown in terms of the type of employment pass and which are the industries/professions that the employment pass holders belong to.

Answer:

In the first half of 2013, about 2,600 Employment Passes have not been renewed, of which slightly more than half were Q1 Pass holders. The top industries for these EP holders were Wholesale and Retail Trade, Professional Services and Information and Communications. This is likely due to the tightening of the EP qualifying criteria implemented in Jan 2012, as part of the government's effort to raise the quality profile of foreign professionals working here.

fucking PAP.... they dun renew 2600 but from the other end issue 26000 new passes...fuck PAP

They let in 260,000 and not renew 2600 (that's 1 percent) EP and they claim that is tightening! Are we fools?

The minister is not even sure if it is due to tightening based on his response "This is likely due to the tightening of the EP qualifying criteria".
Does he know his stuff?

Fuck PAP. Vote Them Out.

Dumbfuck retarded opposition supporting idiots. PAP is keeping their GE2011 promise. While PAP is busy tightening the inflow, WP is busy scolding them about tightening foreign intake. Just go ask you precious LTK

Don't even bother with what is happening in Parliament...ever since JBJ or Chiam See Tong, no longer there...all these prepared 'food'..like selecting from a MENU...the people of SINgapore, certainly have very low intelligence to fall for such bullshit! for such a long time...

You think we are dumb? Tightening means taking ZERO new foreigners and reducing the current numbers. That is tightening. When you bring in 260,000 and kick out 2600, that is NOT tightening.

That's because people don't understand that 2 seats or 7 seats make no difference in passing bills.

The difference is you are 5 seats less from throwing PAP out.

Vote 28 opposition MPs, then where it concerns bills, you can see the difference.

It is just reversing the damage the have already caused...heaping miseries on SINgapore workers since the last recession of 1984...you think , all of us are dunb & stupid like the 60%??

What election promises...it should be a duty fo any government paid by public funds, owe a duty to the people, & serve them, not in their greed in running after money...selling out SINGAPOREANS...that is what they did.

There are too many, cheating cases in employment....forging all sorts of things to get employment passes..while the people here suffers, having to battle to earn a living to feed an EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE GOVERNMENT & can never, get their hands on the hard earn, blood, sweat & tears savings, known as CPF.

Without any oppositions...we all will be obliterated...living as 3rd class citizens in our own country,,,,sold out by a government!!

That's like turning your tap fully so that the water flow is at the maximum speed, and then partially close it by a few millimeters.

"I'm restricting/tightening the flow of water." Yeah right, water is still gushing out.

It's called 'playing semantics' and only the pappies scum love to do that.

PAP supporters would claim that endless bickering in Parliament would result in no work getting done.

These pro-PAP morons should be shipped off via time travel to live in a fiat monarchy.

so orchestrated. MP R Dhinakaran asking half fuck question to make MOM look good. only ask how many not renewed but purposely never ask how many issued.

22 Indian nationals charged for false declaration of salaries

TWENTY-two Indian nationals have been charged by the Manpower Ministry (MOM) for providing false salary information to apply for their work passes.

Applicants of Employment Passes and S Passes must meet minimum salary requirements.

But the workers declared they will be paid monthly salaries of between $2,400 and $4,550 despite knowing that they would be paid less, said MOM in a statement on Wednesday.

They were employed by four firms: Vina Trading, Manthra Enterprises, Magnaton Ventures and Nalla Traders. All four companies are franchisees of local convenience chain store 7-Eleven.

22 caught but how many more scot-free? 7-11 workers can earn between 2400 to 4500? this one is too obvious. no wonder MOM managed to catch them.
