The ST reports that up to $93 BILLION will be spent to overcome the Covid-19 crisis.

Given the fact that Covid disproportionately affects the elderly it is pretty obvious that it is this group of people that the government is deeply concerned about.
Had nothing been done it is possible that 5,000 to 10,000 old farts could have perished before their time.
If we divide $93,000,000,000 by the upper end of the estimated death toll it works out to $9.3 million to per life saved which is a huge sum just to add a few months of life to some half dead old fart/fartess.
Nobody can justifiably accuse the PAP of not caring for the old folk.
