PAP says that National Service is a privilege. The PAP also says that privilege is given only to Singaporean guys. No PR nor foreigner is given that privilege. How gracious and caring the PAP is as only Singaporean guys are given that privilege to serve NS.

But Singaporean guys who decline that PAP-given privilege will be jailed. What a privilege indeed.

Some PAP MPs did not serve National Service but have the audacity to tell those who have served two years and are subject to yearly ICT recalls that they should consider themselves as privileged. That's rubbing salt into the wound

It pains me when a child is ill-treated by adults whom he trusts and depends on for protection

It pains me to see Singapore guys bullied by their own govt and MPs (through laws and legislations that favour PRs and foreigners) whom they trust and depend on for their well-being

I agree that NS is a privilege. I had a great time doing NS and I felt a wonderful sense of pride and accomplishment knowing that I was part of an organisation tasked with keeping my family and my country safe.

I would not want any foreign born new citizen to enjoy the same experience.

hahaha.....typical frogs in the well making sweeping statements.......
many PRs have served NS.....some chose to become citizens later on while some others decided not take up citizenship even after serving NS...
one joker even ended up as a stateless person because he forgotten to opt in/out by his 21/22 y.o. birthday.....lol.

so the parents of those who died serving NS must b proud their son hv this privilege to die like those in the gallows of changi hotel?

I pity the President's son... for not enjoying the same privilege. Poor guy, he had to suffer by skiving in an air con lab for years, whilst you and I had all the fun!

I wonder whether the pap know they look really silly and stupid for making this statement that NS is a privilege for all Singaporeans

Singaporean guys are trained to fight and die. Do you consider it a privilege to die, and to die for what? To protect the assets of FT and PR? PR and FT do not have to fight and die for Sg and yet, they get to live the good life in sinkie land, jobs, nice HDB flats, places in schools, medical care, etc. Life is better in sinkie land for PR and FT, only the sinkies suffer.

Perks given to PR are not too bad, being native Singaporeans are the real losers.
